Is it easy to learn both German and Spanish?

I just can't decide which one to learn, so how hard is it to learn both? Not at the same time, of course. How difficult do you thing it would be for me to learn Spanish, then when i've learned that start learning German? Like generally, can most people learn both languages, and end up speaking them both fluently with plenty of practice?
For an English native speaker, Spanish is usually quite easy, but German is aweful. Especially the German grammar is horrible. But perhaps it is more of an advantage to learn something difficult? When you learn first Spanish and then German or the other way around, I don´t think the first language will be a great help when learning the other one.
What free/cheap websites, books, or sofware should I use to learn German?

I am German, but I don't speak the language, and I have not been to Germany. Are there any free/cheap websites, books, or software that can help me learn German? I've heard Rosetta Stone is great, but it is too expensive for me. Also the Muzzy program is just dumb. Any advice would be good.

Is German a relatively straightforward language to learn?

Hi, I would like to learn German but didn't have much luck with languages at school. It sounds to me like English and German are very similar in some aspects and a lot of the worlds I hear on the TV sound virtually identical. Is this the case?

I think if I can do it any one can. I think I was lucky as I lived in germany for 5 years whilst with the Military in Paderborn and Sennelager. My children were quite small then so I got to meet other childrens mothers who were German and they offered to help me learn, It was great! one day we went to my house and spoke nothing but English to teach them, and the next day we would go to a German friends house and speak nothing but german so I learnt quite quickly as I wanted to know what they were saying (in case they were making a fool of me) We could also ask if we didnt know the word.
You will find if you are Scottish it is maybe easier to learn, as a lot of the word sound similiar, (like Gaelic).
Go to a library and get a talking learning disc, and this will help you. also a vorterbook ..german for dictionary/german English you can pick one up very cheap in any shop that sell books.
Can you not get on a course if you are the lad that is in the forces?

I just got my mechanical eng. degree from mmu.Next year I will be in Leeds uni. doing MSc automotive eng. And I wanna start to learn german language as well. Is there any society or any place that you can suggest me?
Getting 1-on-1 tuituion is the best way dat way you can learn faster. But if u reli don't want to learn it all that quickly u cud try an adult learning class.
Even using the internet but that is harder.
