start using yahoo messenger
Chat with german users by learning it from them
Start using voice chat and start talking to them in german.
it is the most easiest and probably the cheapest way to learn german.
Yeah, heart break is a fundamental problem in this way of leraning

    Order German movies, books and other entertainment media. The fastest way to learn is to be involved with any thing in that language. Also there is language teaching tools available on the BBC web page, they teach you basics for touring the country. Although I might add that french is easier to learn and easier for Americans to understand. Being so close together A lot of Germans speak fluent french (and vise versa) meaning if you tour the area you will still be able to get around.
