   I’m so glad that I am a native German… German is a f***ing hard language to learn, even Germans make a lot of mistakes. But we’re happy when somebody tries and speaks German, especially sb from an English speaking country, because we often get the impression that they think there is no need for them to learn any other language.

   There is a very popular method called The Alexander method that completely ignores grammar in the learning progress. It actually works, and I love grammar.

    I don’t give up easily, ((and I am a grammar entheusiast)) but I see your point. I have a brother who would probably learn a lot more from a more flexible learning program.

    You can thrust this method.When I started learning English it wasn’t about grammar at first,it was basic communication,and stuff.With the time you develop certain instinct,as if it’s your mother tongue.And then grammar and everything comes so easily.With the time the big puzzle is almost complete and you don’t even feel the effort.You can always choose the hard way of getting things done,but then again you may get tired of fixing that puzzle,and giving up is probably what you’re going to do
