Try german.about.com for some beginning lessons.
I've heard nothihg but good about Rosetta Stone software from Transparent language. It's expensive but your library might have it.
Look for AATG (AATG.org), the website of the American Association of Teachers of German; they have links. There is a website somewhere for 'glow', which has lists of German teachers and tutors. I believe this is linked from the AATG site.
deutsch-lernen.com, deutschlern.net
Try Goethe.de (look for the translation link to get it in English.) There will be some materials, generally higher internediate or advanced.
Viel Glück!

I have one disk with German, French and Spanish. I have tried the Spanish and it is super easy to use.
